What’s my story? How did I end up creating a whole business around digital marketing in the pet industry?
My path has had many twists and turns, which has awarded me a unique level of expertise in this field.
Here’s how I got started as a pet blogger…
My blog, Wear Wag Repeat, kicked off in 2013 as a hobby to document my many passions. I blogged about fashion, recipes, home decor, DIYs, and of course, dogs!
My dream of becoming a famous fashion blogger quickly pivoted into my reality as a dog blogger. The dog blogging community has always been so welcoming and supportive. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them!
As I worked on blog posts in the early days I ran another business as a social media consultant for local businesses in Pittsburgh. I grew my clients’ social media accounts to 10,000 and 30,000 followers. That’s when I realized I needed to put that expertise to use growing my own social media following.
My experience on the front lines of social media and my Masters of Science in Media Arts from Duquesne University equipped me with knowledge about web design, graphic design, and video production that would prove to come in handy as social media marketing has evolved to video-first platforms.
From social media strategist to OG of pupfluencer marketing
My success on Instagram lead me to opportunities to do paid influencer work for a variety of brands. Other dog lovers started to take notice and ask me how I grew my account and became a “pupfluencer”. This prompted me to created the first of many online courses designed to help others in the pet industry grow their businesses online.
Today, all of my top resources and advice are included in the Wear Wag Repeat Society Vault, an on-demand library of comprehensive resources on everything from blogging and SEO to Profit First accounting and how to hire a virtual assistant. If you’re working to grow your pet business, the Vault is your roadmap!
I’m also proud to provide a platform for women in the pet industry through the Wear Wag Repeat Podcast. It’s given me the opportunity to speak with hundreds of inspiring women and share their stories with you. My nationally-recognized podcast has over a quarter million downloads across 350+ episodes!
One of the best parts of this whole dog-obsessed dreamworld I’ve created is knowing how many people I positively impact.
Thanks to features in The Wall Street Journal, Good Morning America, BuzzFeed, Good Housekeeping, The Pioneer Woman, AKC Family Dog Magazine, DogTV and dozens of blogs and podcasts I’ve impacted the lives of millions of people and their dogs!
So tell me… how can I help you reach your pet-obsessed goals? Reach out to me and tell me what you’re working on.
I’m looking forward to meeting you and hearing your story.
